
Promotional items can be produced in just about any form, in any quantity, and can be adjusted to fit any budget. They can be produced to promote a business, issued as rewards or recognition, offered as Holiday or anniversary gifts, or to generate new customer accounts. Popular promotional items include: magnets, coolers, match books, pens, letter openers, stationary, calendars, key chains, book marks, bracelets, coffee mugs, thermoses, watches, lapel pins, hats, sweat shirts, jackets and t-shirts.
During a recent survey by L.J. Market Research for Promotional Products Association International (PPAI) over 800 people were asked about their experience in receiving promotional items from businesses. Nearly half of the
respondents said that they were more likely to consider doing business with an advertiser after receiving a promotional item. More than half of the respondents stated that they held a more favorable opinion of the advertiser after receiving a promotional item. Useful promotional items that can be used often (such as pens, stationary, coffee mugs, calendars, etc.) are usually more appreciated. Of all respondents who have received useful promotional items, state that 31% of them keep their promotional items for six months to a year, while nearly 55% had kept their promotional items for over a year. Of these respondents who have kept their promotional items, 73% report using their items at least once a week.
