The culture of personal product promotion is so prolific even the art world has something to say about it...

Recently I attended the hottest photo show in los angeles, Photo l.a. at the Barker Hangar. As an Advertising Specialistand Fine Art Collector, I can’t help but comment upon the work of Deitrich Wegner, Australia. His photo of a branded baby speaks to the culture of product promotion and it’s prolific affect on the way we interact with our society. We are a branded culture. A culture of imprinted logos and corporate sponsorship. This artistic commentary speaks to the phenomenal power of the logo and the extreme success of promotional product marketing. We see these logos imprinted on everything: pens, apparel, USBs, you name it, anything can be imprinted with a logo…and now…even babies.
